At homify, we have a large selection of homes with an even wider variety of interior design styles and sizes. And although large and luxurious homes are inspiring to look at, not all of us share that same aesthetic for what we want for our own homes. We are the biggest fans of smaller interiors because they tend to be the most relatable to our readers and when they're done right, they really make an impression.
We have a small home to show you today from the interior designers and decorators at FrankFU Interior Design. This project is a wonderful example of fun and diverse style in only 40 square metres of interior space. This home is guaranteed to give you ideas for your tiny living space–from the choice of colours that are sure to impress you to the accessories we know will have you yearning for the same design.

Upon entry into this tiny home, we see a narrow entrance hall decorated with floating shelves and a nice place to sit down and take off your shoes. A small throw blanket on the bench hides shoes and keeps the space from getting too visually crowded with clutter. A light cream colour for the walls matches the even lighter hardwood flooring, making this space bright and cheery–the perfect atmosphere when first entering a home. The decor items on the shelves are diverse. Various books and small potted plants give the impression of a well-read resident who enjoys nature.
The main area consists only of a small sofa and an equally small dining table, perfectly suited for a few intimate gatherings. n accent wall of muted teal makes the interior not feel so monochromatic and allows for better complements of colour in the furnishings. A soft area rug and various throws and pillows make this space optimal for comfort and relaxation.
Moving further into the living area, we see access to a small balcony. Large glass doors bring in loads of natural light and fresh air. This is an important element in smaller homes, as they tend to get stuffier faster than larger homes.
Directly in from of the sofa is a wall of storage space. Quaint accessories like the the rug depicting the flag of Great Britain and the small statue in the corner combine quirky style in an overall humble space.
A closer look at the dining area shows us the wonderful addition of a wall partition which separates the entrance from the main living area. This half wall keeps the space feeling open while also maintaining privacy. The dining table can easily fit five people thanks to the bench seating on the front side facing us. The small atmosphere allows for more intimate gatherings with friends and family.
In the bedroom, we are overwhelmed with by the softness of the textiles. Plush bedding in neutral tones adds a sophisticated element to a rather intimate area, and even more decoration with literature tells us that an intellectual lives here. Right underfoot, we have a soft and fluffy area rug–the perfect choice when you don't want your feet to hit the cold floor first thing in the morning.
The bathroom doesn't lack in style, either. A bright yellow mirror against a darker brown accent wall gives this space a retro edge, while the patterned floor tiles in light beige maintain an elegant atmosphere. Rounded features in the sink basin and toilet soften the vibe as well.
