“There is not much space in my kitchen,” sounds familiar? Most of the time we prefer to entertain our guests in restaurants or order food because of it, lack of work-space in kitchen. Trust me, even if the kitchen is sufficiently large, still we struggle with the space. Isn’t it? When the kitchen is small or of medium size, we surely need a solution because even while cooking for our family we need some room to store, prep, cook and serve. Modern designers have solutions to every problem. Whether you are building a kitchen of your new home or planning to renovate your existing kitchen, these intelligent ideas will surely create ample room to make your kitchen feel spacious and cooking a delightful experience. All you need to do now is throw a party at home and get ready to receive accolades for sumptuous feast.

1. Stack-up the appliances

Kitchen without its appliances is just unimaginable in today’s world. No matter how much we are dependent on these appliances, the fact is that it engages substantial amount of space from our limited work-space even after its use. Consider building a garage for all the appliances and park all of it there. Make sure that electrical outlets reach the appliance garage and it is planned in such a way that you don’t have to move them to use it.

2. Integrate the space for more space

Contemporary kitchen is enticing and open and not a room hidden behind the walls. Use the openness of the space and make space for dining table right there in the kitchen. This will provide you with more than sufficient work-space when needed. When designing or buying the furniture, consider comfort and functionality and then make it look beautiful with your personal touch.

3. Functionally multi-functional

Of late, the space crunch in small homes has brought revolution in furniture design and space management which gave birth to the concept of multi-functional furniture. Partition the kitchen with the rest of the space but make it useful. Beside the extra storage space for your home, it can create extra work-space in the kitchen. Now this is what we call smart space management and utilization.

4. Pull-up workstation

Pull-up when you need a few inches more of work-space and push it down if you need free space to move around; the control will be in your hands. The freedom of choice will liberate you from lots of hassle and make cooking a pleasant experience. Put some seats and invite your family to join you there.

5. Double- Decker space

Install an open shelve all along the wall over counter-top and enjoy the benefit of extra space at no extra cost of space. Keep the shelve little slimmer than the main platform for smooth sailing in the kitchen. Even you can say it from your experience that open shelve is far more convenient than the closed one since we can see what we have kept there and not have to depend on our memories.

6. Best out of waste

We can’t use the top of dishwasher as a workstation. Can we? Just imagine how much of space can be created by building a permanent or even temporary work-space above the dishwasher or washing machine. This space usually goes waste. Think and create something different or take a clue from here. You can use it to keep utensils or even to prep and store when guests are at home.

7. Vertical space

Why to think only horizontally when we can go vertical? It’s an innovative and modern way to use space. When the world is creating vertical garden, we can also create a vertical breakfast table which can serve as work-space when needed. Isn’t it?
