Amazingly, over time, hotels have changed from simple stop-offs and overnight sleeping venues to five-star luxury experiences that can be life changing.  Often, the top hotels have created a world within a world and have hired top designers to make it happen.  Each famous hotel has established themselves not only in high class service, but in the aesthetic experience they create from the moment you walk in.

Aesthetics are the name of the game in the upscale hotel business, and now their style and design is slowly trickling down into the mainstream arena where home design is concerned.  It is never a bad idea to find interior design inspirations all around you, and why shouldn't hotels be a great place to start?

We have created a comprehensive list of our most-loved hotels and how you can recreate the look for less, in your very own home!

Refined and elegant: Claridge's in London

Dom w Wilanowie , 3deko 3deko Hành lang, sảnh & cầu thang phong cách hiện đại

If timeless elegance and wise sophistication are your primary tastes in life, look no further than Claridge's in London. Defined by its signature marble interior and black and white classic colour palette, Claridge's truly transports you to a different time.

Create this look in the entryway and passageways in your home for a grand first impression. Keep the walls and main colours as light and fresh as possible – if not completely stark – and use black for accessories and furnishings for a timeless feel. Accessories should be minimal, and if you're looking for a bold pattern or colours to bring into the mix, use Claridge's as inspiration to play around with black and white floor tiles!

L.A. Luxury: The Beverly Hills Hotel

What a fun and classic place right in the middle of Los Angeles!  We're not sure what's more iconic – the interior of The Beverly Hills Hotel, or that beautiful sign on the exterior of the structure. We know for certain that we love both! The Beverly Hills Hotel is defined by a sophisticated escape to paradise, a tropical getaway with a retro twist, right in the middle of Down Town L.A.

For this cool retro effect in your own home, mix bold colours with pastels and retro, Scandinavian-style furnishings. As you can see in this example, there are several colours at play in this dining room, yet with the right strategy, fabulous wall art and lighting fixtures, everything combines to create a super-cool, hip and retro environment!

Rock & Roll: The Chelsea in New York

The Chelsea in New York is definitely the most eclectic establishment on this list and we love it! It's by far one of the easiest looks to recreate in your own home and you can most certainly let your creativity fly. We suggest sticking to one colour palette, but don't be afraid to add accessorising accent colours along the way for some fun. Top the look off with unique and quirky accessories and fixtures.

Tip: To really top off the Chelsea look, choose great, eclectic wall art and play around with how you frame, matte and hang it.

All-out modern opulance: Jumeirah in Dubai

As you probably know, Dubai is currently the forerunner for architecture, landscape architects and interior design.  With beautiful and vast buildings and a great landscape to work with, the elegance and opulence of Dubai can be overwhelming.

The Jumeirah in Dubai is one of the most fabulous establishments and spares nothing to keep its look classic, elegant and fresh.  We suggest you try a bedroom in the style of Jumeirah by sticking with different shades of whites and greys for the main colours. For accessorising colours, stick with dark, royal purples, blues and reds. Play with dramatic window coverings by combining sheers with curtains, and it never hurts to add a grand chandelier as a focal point, creating the illusion of more space.

Gallic nonchalant cool: The Ritz in Paris

We all know that the French are pack leaders when it comes to great design and fashion.  The Ritz exists in several locations, and trust us, each is just as impressive as the last!  However, The Ritz in Paris holds a particular place in our hearts as its nonchalant grandeur can hardly be replicated.  So how can it be done?

Well, with a mixture of high ceilings, open and bright windows, a grand chandelier and great textures and patterns, you can recreate this Baroque-style elegance in your own home! Think a look this elegant will cost you? Not necessarily – check out local antique and flea markets for cheap and extravagant finds and begin building your very own Ritz in no time!

Party animal: The Copacabana Palace in Brazil

Ah, the Copacabana Palace in Brazil. Existing now for over 90 years, this hotel has seen the likes of the rich and famous for decades.  Designed in a beautiful Art Deco style with a tropical twist on the interior, it's no wonder so many designers try replicating this relaxing, yet elegant interior!

To recreate this feel in your own home, we suggest you stick with the largest room your home has to offer, so more than likely the living room.  Keep the lighting effects dim and romantic, stick with light-grain wood and make sure your decorative accessories and furnishings adhere to a tropical colour palette – think bright reds, deep greens, oranges and yellows.

Want this look on the exterior of your home to create the most relaxed and tropical mind set? Take a look at this Copacabana-style patio area!

Minimal & fuss-free: Hours Capsule Hotel in Kyoto

Interestingly enough, we end our list today with the only hotel on this list that believes in supplying the original and straightforward concept of hotels: sleeping. However, sleeping in the Hours Capsule Hotel in Kyoto is a very special sleep, as each capsule includes a state-of-the-art sleep ambient control system for a better nights' rest!

Now in three locations, the Hours Capsule (9 Hours Hotel) offers you three options – a full-nights' rest, a nap, or simply a shower, all for an affordable price and in a beautiful and strong minimalist setting.

In order to give this feeling to your own home, keep walls stark white, or a light shade of grey – forget decor and accessories and stick with comfort and homey items – like pictured here. Each room in your home should follow one phrase: Form follows function.
